HERE'S THE STORY

My mother’s dream was always to visit Hawaii. One year, to celebrate their anniversary, by father booked a two week trip to the islands. They had a great time and the hibiscus flowers which grow there became her favorite flower. After working out the colors and values in a smaller painting, “Hibiscus” I painted a larger, three-flowered version for my mother. I love the way the background colors set off the flowers and how the values accentuate the near, middle distance, and far flowers. She loved the painting which gave her lots of happy memories.
