HERE'S THE STORY

Claire is our daughter and she came to visit us in Oman for the very first time about six months after we moved there. We ran her around the Sultanate pretty thoroughly which included a day of snorkeling. Much of the Omani coast is a turtle territory so it’s not too unusual to see them swimming around. The most famous turtle spotting location in Omani is Ras Al Jinz which is a turtle sanctuary where, with the help of a guide, you can go out in the wee small hours and watch the females dig nests. Sometimes you can even see the hatchlings scurry for the beach. Of the seven sea turtle species, Oman is home to five.
